Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... THE VINYL MINT- INCREDIBLE CONDITION
As you can see, this vinyl is the 1st TRANSLUCENT RED HEAVYWEIGHT pressing - Stored from new this LP has seen ONLY A FEW CAREFUL plays!
It remains in SUPERB condition everywhere. THE VINYL REALLY IS AS GOOD AS WE HAVE SEEN.
THE TRANSLUCENT RED COLOUR IN THE VINYL CAN BE SEEN WHEN HELD TO THE LIGHT- (see pic) THESE ARE TYPICAL OF EARLY 70s 'PYE' PRESSINGS...Later copies, as in most releases, were solid black..
This pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is virtually no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
There are just a couple of light spider lines around the centre hole, and no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever just a little shiny around the hole itself.
There are some whisp lines, and thats it- nothing else! No scratches or marks to spoil the play
Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING CONDITION.
On playing through we heard SOME lead in static in the dead grooves....and that wa about it- all tracks were stunning!
The quiet passages sound really superb..only a few light static crackles in a few spots..a professional hoover cleaner could remedy this back to a higher grade we feel, as this would get out the deeper dust particles in the grooves...
A very rare record to see at all these days in this earliest press..
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.

THE SLEEVE MINT-
Correct LAMINATED GATEFOLD UK issued sleeve - with STAPLED BOOKLET SPINE -Only the first sleeves had the booklet stapled through the spine.. later presses had the book glued in the centre, then left loose and put inside the open side...
THESE STAPLED SLEEVES ARE BECOMING VERY HARD TO TRACK DOWN..

This is in SUPERB condition, quite amazing how it has survived so clean.
Cut to the chase:
THE WHOLE LAMINATED FINISH TO THE SLEEVE IS LIKE NEW, NO DULLING AT ALL
Just a couple of tiny laminate spider lines on the edge, and thats about it
The spine is superb, and the opening of the sleeve is oitstanding-like new!
THE BOOKLET ATTACHED IS STUNNING. ALL PAGES ARE MINT.
WE CANNOT SAY MORE THAN THIS REALLY IS QUITE SPECTACULAR.
