'ITS THE VINYL COUNTDOWN'

Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

THE VINYLS   MINT-  SUPERB CONDITION

As you can see, this vinyl is the 1st UK 'TRANSLUCENT RED' pressing -Stored from new this LP has seen possibly a couple of careful plays only, and remains in pristine condition everywhere.

THE VINYL SET REALLY IS LIKE NEW..AND HAS BEEN STORED SINCE 1973!!!!

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

THESE FIRST ISSUE VINYLS WHEN HELD TO THE LIGHT SHOW A TRANSLUCENT RED, LIKE MANY 'PYE' PRESSINGS DID BACK IN THE EARLY 70s.. later pressings of this LP are solid black.

Just a couple of visible spider lines around the centre & no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever.

There are  a few light whisp lines a few light hairlines- and thats it-  nothing else!  Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years..IT REMAINS IN ASTONISHING CONDITION.

ON LISTENING THROUGH IT SOUNDED SUPERB WITH JUST THE FEINTEST LEAD IN STATIC -

The whole LP is simply incredible..as good a copy of 'Yellow Brick Road' as we have ever had- and check the sleeve.....!!

IT IS A SUPERB EXAMPLE, AND AS GOOD AS WE HAVE AUCTIONED.

THE LABELS   MINT  FLAT MATT LABELS

THE SLEEVE     MINT-    'TIME CAPSULE COPY'

Correct  UK  1st EDITION MATT 'TRI FOLD' FINISH SLEEVE  first issued earliest sleeve with MASSIVE SQUARE SPINE

Printed by -GARROD & LOFTHOUSE

This is straight out the box from  1973 incredible condition , we do not auction any sleeves that we deem to have 'wear' so rest assured you are looking at a sleeve of stunning condition..

The finish remains in pristine MINT condition everywhere!

The edges are all super clean with virtually no traces of rub, at all , and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition. This sleeve which is so hard to preserve without wear has clearly been stored away for decades!

Just one tiny feather thumb crease on the front open edge

No powdery white ringwear or even ring press of any note, and all edges are super crisp.

NO edge rub of any note ! Just some tiny tip rub

THE GATEFOLD  REMAINS IMMACULATE- NORMALLY THESE TRI FOLD SLEEVES SUFFER BAD RUBBING, AND SPINE SPLITS, AND ALSO CREASING WHERE THE TWO PANELS TUCK INTO EACH OTHER..A DESIGN FAULT,  AND SO HARD TO FIND A SLEEVE SUPER CLEAN

HERE THERE IS HARDLY ANY HINT OF CREASING ON THE SEAM, AND THE WHOLE SLEEVE IS JUST STUNNING..

The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with not a hint of handling

THE SPINE EDGES ARE AS GOOD AS YOU WILL SEE..JUST A HINT OF TIP RUB.

WE CLARIFY BY SAYING, THIS SLEEVE IS STRAIGHT OUT OF 1973!

THE INNER SLEEVES   MINT-

PAPER PAT PRINTED INNER..NO DAMAGE
