The time has come for me to thin down my vast collection of Elvis Presley albums and singles as I need to minimize my holdings. I have decided to begin with the AFL1 prefix LP’s, first released in 1977, shortly after Elvis’ untimely demise. Realizing that the Black Label, “Dog Near Top” LSP reissues (1976-77) were pressed in mass abundancy and are mere “player” copies, these AFL1’s are an entirely different story because they were pressed in very short runs and many of them are downright RARE!
ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS (AFL1-1707) – SEALED PROMO COPY, ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 2 (AFL1-2075) – SHRINK WRAP!, ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS, VOL. 3 (AFL1-2765) & ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 4 (AFL1-3921) – SHRINK WRAP! LOT OF FOUR NEAR MINT TO FULL MINT AFL1 COPIES!!
ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS (AFL1-1707)
RECORD: MINT and still sealed within the cover!
COVER: VG++ (EXC) with “NOT FOR SALE – DEMONSTRATION” stamped (upside down!) in gold on the back side. The corner in which this promo stamping took place had the shrink wrap cut away. As a result, it was exposed to some roughing of the lower edge.
ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 2 (AFL1-2075)
RECORD: NM and played perhaps one time and then tucked away. Beautiful, glossy surfaces!
COVER: NM and in full original shrink wrap! However, there appears to be some light foxing on the front, which normally will appear first on a white or light-colored cover such as this one. The original “ELVIS” (54F) inner sleeve is included.
ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS, VOL. 3 (AFL1-2765)
RECORD: NM- with like new glossy surfaces, but there is a small number of extremely light paper sleeve scuffs noticed on Side A.
COVER: NM- with virtually no ring wear on either side. However, there is some minor foxing noticed on both sides along with some very light edge wear. The original “ELVIS” (54F) inner sleeve is included.
ELVIS’ GOLD RECORDS, VOL. 4 (AFL1-3921)
RECORD: MINT and appears to have never been played! Stunning glossy surfaces!
COVER: NM with 99% of the shrink wrap present. A tear in the shrink along the spine is noticed and a tiny piece of shrink is missing. The spine shows some fading from green to more of a blue color. A second tear in the shrink around the lower spine is also present. The original “ELVIS” (54F) inner sleeve is included.

All records are shipped in the correct cardboard folding mailers with the record separated from the cover, then inserted together within a clear polyvinyl sleeve, then sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard filler pads within the mailer to ensure optimum protection.
