Over the next week or so I will be listing some Elvis stuff..Maybe some Cliff Richard as well!..
This must be one of the hardest of his Ep's to find!..
Issued in 1957 on HMV..7EG 8256..UK pressing..The matrix numbers are:..7TAV 415 1N and 7TAV 416 1N..The stampers are 1O and 1R..The XT tax codes are also stamped in the run off grooves (this firmly dates it as being between June and December 1957)..
The record looks VG..It does have quite a few light hairlines to each side,also some light scuffing..
On a play grade it comes in as EX minus.. The first track is a little crackly ("Blue Moon Of Kentucky")..The next track..("Good Rockin") plays PERFECTLY.."Milk Cow Blues" is also a bit crackly.."Just Because" plays with no problems....The crackle mentioned is not a wall of white noise or so noisey that you have to go in the next room to listen to it!..There are no nasty clicks or pops and overall,the sound quality is bright and undistorted...
The labels are very clean..They have no stickers,writing or other such stuff..The text is untarnished and clearly legible..There don't seem to be excessive spindle wear to the areas around the centre holes....
The sleeve is in really GREAT condition!..It's laminated both front and back with top and bottom flipbacks..Both front and back have a few light laminate creases..There is some laminate lift to the front along the spine and to the back top right...There is a little wear to the opening edge near the front bottom,nothing serious...
The sleeve has no rips or tears,no seam splits,sellotape,tape marks or scribble..The corners are still fairly square,there is only light discshape..The edges show no rubbing..The colours are bright and unfaded..A really nice sleeve!.
