HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY IN HEAVEN ELVIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ELVIS PRESLEY- BUYERS-DON'T BE DECEIVED BY OTHER SELLERS.-THIS ISSUE WITH THE P.D. CREDIT IS TRULY THE VERY FIRST PRESSING. Here we have Elvis' very 1st record album. Original 1st pressing made in 1956. LPM-1254. Self Titled. I acquired this album from Cynthia Janis. She purchased it March 22, 1956. It is one of the very 1st pressings with the matrix 1 S on both sides of record. The cover has the pale pink letters. later versions had the dark pink and red letters. The song Just Because has the P.D. credit. (see explanation below)**** The cover has tape on seams, some browning and shelf wear on back. Cynthia' name and purchase date on top left. The record has scratches, no chips, stickers, writing or warping. Also the matrix number are 1 S on both sides. Original rice wax paper sleeve included

****Elvis Presley, the album that started it all. This iconic records influence can still be felt today. Elvis was one of the top earners in show business.
The first release of this record credited the song writing to the song "Just Because" to P.D. - Public Domain. You can only imagine how surprised the authors were to find they weren't able to get on the gravy train.
The song writing credits were quickly changed on subsequent pressings. The record guides don't mention this fact. But serious record collectors look for this issue.
