·       SO RARE AND SO EARLY IN ELVIS' CONTRACT WITH THE RCA VICTOR WAS THIS SAMPLER ISSUED  THAT RCA VICTOR APPARENTLY DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THE ORIGINAL MATERIAL SPECIFICALLY RECORDED FOR RCA TO INCLUDE ON THIS SAMPLER, SO THEY HAD TO RESORT TO USING SUN SESSION RECORDINGS GRANDFATHERED FROM THEIR CONTRACT WITH SUN, WHICH GAVE THEM THE RIGHTS TO ELVIS'  SUN CATALOG. IT CAN BE SAFELY SAID THAT THE SAMPLER IS THE MISSING LINK BETWEEN ELVIS' FINAL SUN RECORDING AND HIS FIRST RCA SESSIONS (PROBABLY AROUND THE SECOND QUARTER OF 1956)

Elvis Presley E-Z Pop Programming No. 5 Promo LP (RCA, 1956). This scarce yellow label promo sampler included 12 cuts of RCA artists, including Elvis' "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" and "Mystery Train." Other artists represented were Perry Como, Eddie Fisher, Kay Starr, Chet Atkins, Eddy Arnold, Jaye P. Morgan, Dinah Shore, Vaughn Monroe, and others.

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VERY GOOD++ . CAUTION: The vinyl is NOT MINT or NEAR MINT, but is nevertheless in a very nice and clean condition. There are some surface marks and abrasions, mostly light and superficial, although some may be longer than 2.1/2 inches (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

(b)          The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(c)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER : This promo pressing comes without any custom jacket, and will be shipped in a plain, generic, white cardboard cover (NOT SEPARATELY GRADED, BUT IN A NICE CONDITION, OVERALL).
