ELVIS PRESLEY "ROUSTABOUT", 1964 Movie Theater Lobby Spots 2-SIDED - 7 inch 45 rpm - Very Rare 1 - 3 Minute Theater Lobby Spot On Each Side
The record and label look great, has a few clicks, has only been played once or twice.
This record was meant only for air-play over the movie theaters lobby speaker system. Side 1 is "Coming Soon To This Theatre" Side 2 is "Now Playing At This Theatre"
Each spot starts with the Elvis song "Roustabout" and plays to near completion as the song fades before the announcer starts talking about Elvis, the movie, and also plays clips of "Little Egypt" and "Hard Knocks" before announcing "Coming Soon To This Theater" or "Now Playing At This Theater" depending on the side that is playing. Each side runs 3 minutes.
This is very rare since only a limited number were pressed on the Paramount Pictures label and sent to theaters that requested them and had an automatic return record player and sound system to play it on for continuous play.
Any existing discs that weren't tossed when the film was done showing were pretty well worn out. This theater promo spot was never for sale or released to the public.
