I am offering this very nice gem, Elvis Presley’s first commercial recordingwhich was put out on Sun Records in 1954. It is very likely rock and roll'smost important recording…the beginning of all that followed for Elvis and forthe music.  This is a great original 1954pressing of Elvis Presley's first commercially released recording, Sun #209 of “That'sAll Right” on side one and  Blue Moon OfKentucky on side two.  This record hasbeen well cared for and plays evenly and cleanly on both sides. There are visiblesurface scuffs and some surface noise, but the grooves are notably and nicely freefrom specific audible disturbances, scratches or pops. I am including videolinks below where you can listen to both sides all the way through. Although itis still shiny I have to call it a VG+ because of the visual scuffs but itplays at the high end of that scale as you can hear below. (In the Grading system of 78’s VG+ isdescribed as “ a very good record thathas obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration insound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional lightscratch (as said there are no notable scratches that are audible or skip on thisrecord) .

The Sun label on the “It’s All Right” side is essentiallyunblemished; the label on the “Blue Moon of Kentuky” side has two abrasionsclose to the spindle hole and is otherwise clean (see photos). I have owned itfor a long time and stored it carefully and have made a point of only listeningto it a few times as great a pleasure as that is. There is not an endlesssupply of these around in such unspoiled overall condition. So based on lookingat previous sales of examples on EBAY in various conditions I think the startingbid is fair. A disc such as this in overall unspoiled condition and that plays this well is RARE.
