UK 1970 RCA LP cat. no. WT 1
Extremely rare UK Elvis-related promotional presentation LP, only 200 pressed to give to RCA Executives at a special commemorative dinner on 7th May 1970 to mark the opening of the RCA plant at Washington, Co. Durham.
This LP contains a selection of classical pieces on the red label side and popular pieces, including Elvis' 'In The Ghetto' on the orange label side. Beautifully presented in gold gatefold sleeve with factory photos and information, the Washington crest and track details, this is certainly the rarest UK compilation LP featuring an Elvis track, and a fabulous memento of the UK's part in RCA's great record-producing history.
Sleeve has suffered a bit over the years and grades VG-, a little loss at the spine top, some gold missing on spine, creasing on the top half of the opening side on the front and back, and general edge scuffing and storage wear. Inside is still super, good clean pages and tightly bound.
Vinyl plays very well with some occasional light background noise, a few light marks, but glossy and clean. Grades VG+.
All in all, a decent copy of what is a very rare record indeed.
