Description
Here is an 8-track boxed set of Elvis Presley titled “WORLDWIDE 50 GOLD AWARD HITS, VOLUME 1“. This is a U.S. pressing and the serial number on this box is RCA-P8S-6401. There was only one pressing of this box (August of 1970) and there are 2 X 8-track tapes and a photo booklet inside (the inclusion of the photo booklet is advertised on the box). The contents of this 37 year old box are presumed to be mint and the box itself grades near mint. Also, the box is the size of an lp box. I purchased this box several months ago on E-bay from a seller who was selling items out of the estate of an individual named Robert Coleman. The description in that ad read in part: “This Elvis 8 Track album came from the estate of Robert Coleman, who worked with Elvis at MGM studios. A former police officer for the Culver City Police Department, Mr. Coleman worked as a security officer on the lot of Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios from 1955 to 1975. Elvis, who made at least 10 movies on the lot, took a liking to Mr. Coleman and picked him to be his personal security guard on the closed set of all his movies shot at MGM. Elvis was always fascinated with law enforcement officers and would often talk to Mr. Coleman about Coleman's career. When Elvis would release a new album, he made sure Mr. Coleman received one. None of the albums was ever opened“. Truly, this is an amazing part of Elvis history which I have decided to pass along to the highest bidder in this auction. Shipping costs for winning bidders will be determined at the end of the auction and I accept Paypal and international money orders as forms of payment. Thanks for viewing this auction and feel free to e-mail me with any questions. And be sure to check out all my other Elvis auctions this week and over the next several weeks where I will be auctioning Elvis Japanese lps, Elvis sealed lps, and a few unique and sealed Elvis boxed sets. 22path.
