Description
EMERSON LAKE & PALMER "TARKUS"
ISLAND RECORDS # ILPS 9155
Matrix Nos end: A-1U/B-1U
The very 1st pressing
*******************************************************
A FIRST issue pressing of their brilliant second album, from 1971.
Greg Lake produced the recording for EG, with which he'd also been signed to with King Crimson for their first 2 Island lps.
This is something special as a concept album, and like 'Crimson with 'Lizard' there is a themed piece covering one side of the disc. These men are seen as the 'classics' of the time, brilliant composers and musicians, two of whom have sadly left us in recent years.
Tougher to find as a FIRST Island pressing, this comes in the extra robust E.J. Day thick card Gatefold cover too.
Vinyl British solid quality pressing.
CONDITION;
The UK disc is VG++, a very respectable copy and playing well.
A little travel in quietest parts. Closer to EX, but for a couple of light marks.
Labels are in clean EX condition, no pen, stickers or tears, only some spindle marks.
The GATEFOLD COVER is VG+, clean and bright, some evident storage handling wear to the outer faces.
