Description
A very rare document of Emil Telmanyi's violin mastery. His rendition of Sibelius will bring tears to your eyes with its originality, sensitivity, and courage.
RECORD CONDITION
VINYL:
Side 2 (EX), pretty clean and shiny with only one-two spots and a small lighter/cloudy area, which will likely resolve with machine cleaning.
Side 1 (Moderate VG+), there is a longer visible optical mark at the 10 o'clock position (see photo), which is purely surface and cannot be felt at all by touch or light nail movement, plus 2-3 thin/light optical traces/hairlines.
No warping, vinyl bubbles, chips, or groove damage.
SOUND:
Not play-graded but after a good machine cleaning is expected to sound quite nicen and consistent with other 70-year-old albums in similar condition. I don't expect much of an impact on sound, if any, from the longer visible mark since it is not detectible by touch.
LABELS:
Black/silver, fresh colors and graphics, deep groove on both sides. Some spindle marks, more on one side.
COVER (VG+):
Full gloss. Perfectly flat and tight cover. Stunning brightness and clarity of colors and graphics. No splits on spine and top seam; bottom seam has a 2.5" split from opening side (see photo). Clean back side with age darkening and slight shelf-use smudging around center.
No holes, cut-outs, stamps, writing, stickers, smell, signs of water damage, or stains.
