Description

THE ENGLISH 78 PICTURE BOOK

Vintage sound recordings from the 1890s to the 1970s - compiled by Don Taylor.
Scarce 258 page hard cover book for 78rpm Label Collectors providing an illustrated catalogue of the hundreds of English 78 record labels to have come and gone from the 1890's onwards.
Rather than offering complete label histories, it instead provides basic details for as many labels as possible. The book also includes many labels made in Britain for export to Australia and Europe.
Alphabetical listings provide a brief history of each label with illustrations of each label type (The vast majority of illustrations are b/w but there are a few pages of color label photographs featuring some especially attractive examples).
Long out of print and only published in Hobart, Tasmania, this book is now hard to find and much sought after.
In excellent condition throughout. The spine of the dust jacket is somewhat faded due to exposure to sunlight.
