EPISODE SIX - Here there and every where

Original French EP

Pye (PNV 24 175)

Very rare original French EP. As i'm sure you know this is in the top 10 of the rarest French EP's. Seldom appears for sale, so don't miss out, could be a long time before another one turns up for sale. The sleeve is in great condition, while the record shows a quite a lot of play. We have done a soundfile of all four tracks. The soundfile is of both sides. Recorded on a Technics 1210 MKII with Nagaoka cartridge & Nagaoka eliptical stylus. It is a very sensitive set up & playback will obviously sound better through your speakers. We have recorded all four tracks with the b side first.

Matrix:

Side 1) EXPV 4760 A

Side 2) EXPV 4760 B

The glossy flipback sleeve is in excellent condition. Apart from some ringwear to the rear & light shelf wear, there is nothing to report. A nice solid example.

The label is in excellent condition. No issues to report.

So, we have a great condition sleeve & a well played record. There are a lot of light scuffs, some light wispy lines/hairlines & a couple of light scratches that you can only just feel.  Neither of the super light scratches causes anything but a few light clicks on one of them. The record plays through without sticks or jumps. There is a fair amount of crackle during the title track, but most of the record plays quite well.

A very rare record that is one of the hardest French EP's to find. Nearly impossible to find in any condition, so don't miss out thinking a better condition record will pop up any time soon.

Please note that this grading has nothing to do with the age of the record, we grade all records the same whether they are 40 years old or 4 days old.

For the last 20 years we have been looking through 100's & even 1,000's of records every week, but we still only pull out a tiny percentage to sell on.

Please note that we do NOT use noise reduction on our sound files so you get to hear how the record plays. We use a Technics SL1210 MK2 which are well known for giving a slightly worse sound quality when hooked up to a computer as to what you'll hear through the stereo.

Condition

Sleeve: Excellent (No tears, splits, writing or bends, does have some light ringwear to the rear & otherwise just some very light shelf wear)    Record: G+ (a well played record with a lot of scuffing, wispy lines & hairlines with two very light scratches. Plays through well with crackle during the title track & most of the rest of the record playing well)
Our grading is strict so as not to dissapoint, we have been selling on ebay since 1998 & know how important this is. Grading of records is done with the record angled under a 100 Watt bulb. Scans are of actual item up for auction. All records are packed securely & most importantly packed outside of the picture sleeve (in a plain inner sleeve) so as to avoid seam splits during shipping.

Near Mint

Almost mint.Very minor paper scuffs and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but obviously it had been handled with extreme care.Any flaw should be very hard to see. The cover should look as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork should be as close to perfect as can be.

Excellent

An excellent condition for vinyl will allow minor scuffs (Scuffs lay on top of the grooves) which are visible but only slightly. The wear should be minimal. The play should be close to perfect as well. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear. Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show a little white, meaning slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs.

VG++

As Excellent but with a larger number of scuffs, maybe a couple of hairlines (very light scratch that can't be felt) or a couple of marks. Sound quality should still be very close to that of an Excellent record with only minor crackle in quiet segments only, NO scratches that can be felt. Cover as Excellent but there may be a small seam split on the cover, or a very minimal amount of writing like a name written in small writing or a number. A VG++ record should be an acceptable record to live with if you aren't looking to pay the price of a Near Mint copy.
