Description
Massive Rarity!!! Impossible to Find Test Pressing for 'Withdrawn BEFORE RELEASE' UK LP 'Clapton' by Eric Clapton!!! This is Probably the Rarest UK Eric Clapton Album You Will Ever See!!! One Sided - White Label 1978 UK "# 1 Test Pressing" - Complete With Massively Rare Unreleased Sleeve!!! Very Probably The Test Pressing ONLY Copy in Existence!!!
You are bidding on what is probably the rarest Eric Clapton record you are ever likely to see!!! The Test pressing of an album that was never released!!! It is highly probable that this is the only test pressing of this record that exists today!!! You will never see it again so don't miss it!!! This album was supposed to be released in the UK on the RSO label but was withdrawn very early on. There weren't many copies pressed when the decision was made to cancel the release, and it is thought that one or two pressings made it out of the factory on the RSO label, but they rarely ever show up, and change hands for a lot of money when they do!!! This however is something else!!! It is the original "#1 Test Press" for this elusive unreleased album!! This is a very serious record and I am going to describe it a meticulously as possible so you all know EXACTLY what you are getting for your money!!! However please get your bids in early to avoid disappointment as interest will be high in this one... Still if you are not sure of anything please email and I'll be more that happy to answer all your questions as best we can. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!
Please check our other auctions for more very rare 1st press records and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
Cat No:
? (Unconfirmed but thought to be RSO 2479 702 [which is supported by the Matrix numbers printed below and the cat number printed on the unreleased sleeve])
Dead Wax info:
Side 1 - 2479702 A//2
Side 2 - 2479702 B//2

Being a test pressing, only one side has a label (Side 2). The label is a white test press label which has the text "Eric Clapton - Test Pressing #1" scribbled above the centre spindle hole. The other side is unlabelled and is solid black wax right from the edge to the centre spindle hole!!! The vinyl itself is in stunning condition!!! Unlike most test pressings it looks as it it was not man-handled in the factory and is in superb condition!!! Side 1 (the unlabelled side) grades as Ex++ with just one tiny non-sounding hairline. Side two is a straight Nr Mint!!! The Mega Rare 1st press un-laminated James Upton sleeve is in STUNNING Nr Mint condition with NO nasty Seam Wear and NO Scribbles/Writing, marks or blemishes anywhere. It retains all of its box shape and has MINT sharp corners!!! There is NO edge corner wear at all!!! This sleeve is also beautifully clean. Because these sleeves were white and un-laminated they would have suffered from terrible grubbiness. This one is absolutely pristine!!! A stunning Nr Mint example of this fragile sleeve!!! As mentioned above, it comes complete with its original poly-lined windowed "Patent" text inner sleeve which is also in superb MINT condition!!! A stunning example!!! A very, very rare record indeed, probably unique!!! This is pure 1970's Clapton at his best! A great album and a sound investment for the future! Don't Miss!
I have tried to show you the record from all angles - there's nothing to hide!!! If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help.

Postage ... Hazey Jane has absolutely NO hidden surcharges; the price you win is the price you pay, just add the relevant postage, it's as simple as that! We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.
A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. If you don't add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will not get a refund. Can we be any clearer? I think not.

Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards. If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...
Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.
We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
