Description
This mellow collection of communal U.S. hippie folk was recorded in 1968 and went undiscovered for decades. Featuring male and female vocals, strummed 6 and 12-string acoustic guitars, congas, flute and tambourine, it's a lost gem that's bound to appeal to fans of stoned rural psychedelia. The songs range from touching ballads to whimsical ditties and a highly unusual medley in tribute to folk giant Fred Neil.

Bernard Stollman asked me to write PR for ESP-Disk in 1969. I knew there were money problems at the label so I did not ask for any as I had an unemployment check , severance pay from a major advertising agency, and a handicrafts business. My rent then was $110 a month. Instead, I was remunerated by Bernard with a stack of LPs such as this one. "These are going to be collectors' items some day," he said to me. I see that he was right.
According to ESP-Disk on Facebook, this is the first recording of this LP. ORO was a subdivision of ESP.

It says Oro, not Ono; at one point Bernard had a sub-label or series of ESP called Oro."The record has no cover, will be shipped in a vintage paper sleeve and record mailer. It has surface noise and marks on both sides but it plays without skipping. Hope it finds its way to good rare vinyl collector's home.
