Description
Brahms: Sonata No. 3 Op. 5 / Intermezzos - Op.117 No. 2, Op. 116 No. 2
Remington Musirama RLP 199-109
1952 release.
Etelka Freund (piano).
US mono heavy-vinyl pressing.
Please note:
Like all Remington LP pressings, this disc is manufactured on heavy vinyl - as a result, the packed weight of this item will exceed 500 grams due to the vinyl itself and the cardboard mailer and protective cardboard panel we pack all our LPs with in order to better protect them during transit. Please take this fact into account as we must charge Canada Post rates for packages exceeding 500 grams packed weight.
Vinyl: VG+ (recently cleaned on a VPI machine)
Considering that this is a Remington pressing, this LP is in very good shape indeed. The disc retains much of its original glossy sheen. The Remington company was notorious for using low-quality vinyl. Their LPs had many production faults like pressing bubbles to contend with. Vinyl is clean overall with a few very light surface marks and a small scratch near the end of Side 2/Band 2 that produces some audible tics. Otherwise, this disc play-tested very well overall with some light surface tics. Regardless, this is a supreme rarity of a spectacular performance captured on vinyl - impossible to find on any other label.
Jacket: VG+
Jacket seams and spine are intact; front & back covers show light shelf-wear considering this LP is nearly 60 years old. Collector's numbered label affixed with tape at top-left front.
We grade all our records visually under a 100-watt light.
If visual inspection of the vinyl gives us reason to suspect there may be problems with sound quality, the recording is play-tested and any play-back flaws are included in the item description.
