Description

Odeon B. 90064

Artist: M...Mounabe (smudged)
Tracks: only partially readable

Hypnotic, wonderful one-string fiddle (masenqo) playing and singing by Mounabe on this incredibly scare Ethiopian Odeon. Few (any?) Ethiopian Odeons have ever, ever turned up. If you see any Ethiopian 78s, they are usually HMVs, or late-1930s Columbias.

Despite it's problems (censored side, mainly), it's quite a disc. Likely the side was censored by a government (Italy or Ethiopia would be my guess, probably the former).

Condition: V (looks worse, flip side has been hot-pressed somehow and fully censored, likely by a government entity because of content)

I will be selling a lot of amazing discs from around the world in the coming months. Please bookmark me and check back in.
