Description

Gregor and his Gregorians play "Pouet! Pouet!" and "Honolulu" (a waltz) on Edison Bell Radio F227.  The first side has great solos from solos from Bixian trumpeter Philippe Brun and reedman Edmond Cohanier (in a Trumbauer-ish mood), an amusing French vocal, and a hot final ensemble.  
Philippe Brun (tp,vcl); Georges Samuels (tp); Vladimir Veintroub (tb); Rene Cizard (tb,sop,vln); Edmond Cohanier (as,cl); Lucien Veintroub (as,vln); Lucien Conti (ts,cl,vcl); Lucien Moraweck (p,arr); Michel Glod (g,bj); Nicholas "Le Tsar" Hershoff (tu); Jo Lucas (d,vcl).  Recorded in Paris on May 3, 1929.  According to legend, these sides were recorded in a cold theater before the recording equipment warmed up, resulting in a constricted, somewhat muddy sound quality. 
This record is in V+ condition generally, with a few scratches that tick lightly from time to time and a 3/8" hairline crack from the rim into the first few grooves that sounds very lightly and very briefly on the "Pouet" side.  Paris shop stickers on both labels.  In spite of these flaws, the record plays well and the music is great.
