PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Pet Phin Tong Band. Some tracks from this first LP are found on the popular Sound of Siam compilations. Absolute essential, on this platter every single track is a killer! Pressed on their own label - Pet Pin Tong means Diamond Pinguitar and Gold, and that is what you see on the label...
Here then, the near impossible to find - especially in clean condition - gem of an LP! Yep, for sure it's the mega-rare FIRST (early '70s) LP by the the Phet Phin Tong Band, issued on the Phet Phin Thong Label.
The Pet Phin Tong Band uses 2 Khaens (the mouth-organ carried by the players left and right on the cover) and the Phin, a 3-string guitar (seen in the center). For support some drums are added (Glong Yao, Thai long-drums), creating a hypnotic and driving beat that pushes harder than any funk number you may know of. Usually the songs start slow and then pick up speed. Several Tracks are "Lam Ploen" style, a music that is original from the area of North-East Thailand and has developed from very early forms of Khaen playing and singing. With the arrival of American soldiers in the sixties and tours of western pop-bands (The Shadows were huge in SEAsia!) these traditional forms of Thai music were played more and more danceable - other bands used western instruments (guitar, bass, drums) and combined them with Thai instruments, creating exciting hybrid sounds. Enjoy this groovy monster and apologies for having only one copy (by pure luck) available.

CONDITION: The cover is rated: VG+(+) very delicate, in strong shape with only a bit of wear at top center (see photo) and bit of handling crinkles 'round the edges ...otherwise strong colors, no split seams, no writing, no delete...finding a better cover with 40+ years involved would be more than hard....
The vinyl is rated: "EX" (excellent) loads of shine, one glance you know it's "clean" ...couple insignificant soft/visual hairlines do NOT affect play, this copy MINTY CLEAN audio ...both private labels are clean
