CEGEP CG-1653, 1970 original issue PRIVATE pressing Canada stereo
Featured in Hans Pokara's "3001 Record Collector's Dreams"
These 5 guys recorded this obscure little gem (their only LP) in 1970, live in front of a small but enthusiastic student crowd at the Cegep de Vieux Montreal (Old Montreal College), self-financing the project and releasing the album privately directly through the College in miniscule quantities (now mega rare).
Wickedly raw & heavy blues-psych rock that's akin to early Aynsley Dunbar, Savoy Brown or especially the John Dummer Blues Band .......with some killer numbers like their bluesy cover of "Wade In The Water" and the slow-blues burner...the 9-minute self-penned "Talkin' Blues" with it's climatic guitar breaks. But the album's highlight might well be the 14-minute Medley with lots of twists, turns and mean n' lean guitar /drum breaks.
One of the few "blues-rock" bands to come of Quebec in the 70's (along with bands like Spann, Dionysos, Rockadrome, Emerald City and Offenbach).
Too bad these guys never managed to record a proper studio album !
Pierre Bourdon (lead vocals), Jocelyn Lapierre (drums), Richard Desaulniers (bass), Gilles Hamel (keyboards) and a young Jean Millaire (lead guitar) several years before he showed-off his killer licks with Offenbach, Corbeau and eventualyl a solid solo career.
Produced & engineered by Peter Tessier (who would soon record his own psych gem, the now highly coveted "By Turning a Knob")

* the warp on edge creates a distinctive wobble at beginning of 1st track on both sides and it does affect the play of the first 30 seconds or so
