For sale is a very rare quadruple vinyl release of Echoes: (The Best of Pink Floyd) by Pink Floyd (EMI ?– 7243 53611118).
This four disk box set includes the best that Pink Floyd has to offer!
Echoes is an amazing compilation and even features a previously unreleased track, When The Tigers Broke Free. The song is lyrically based on Roger Waters' father dying by tigers during World War II and was originally titled "Anzio, 1944". Its working title was "When The Tigers Break Through" and was written at the same time as The Wall, hence its copyright date of 1979, and was originally intended to be part of that album, but was rejected by the other members of the band on the grounds that it was too personal. It was subsequently recorded and included in the movie version of The Wall and first released as a separate track on a 7" single in 1982 (running time 3:00), before appearing in The Wall film. The 7" was labelled "Taken from the album The Final Cut" but was not included on that album until the 2004 CD reissue.
A must have for collectors and Pink Floyd Fans alike. This copy shows noticeable wear, but overall is in decent condition and would be a perfect play copy. See below for more details.
Discs are VG+ showing light surface wear, mostly superficial scratches and a few minor scuffs. This set Is Not Mint so it should be understood that it's been lovingly played, but it has occasional rotational pops and light crackle here and there, nothing overwhelming (mostly hiss during quiet parts) but still worth noting. Record 4 has a bit more wear, a few scuffs which produce rotational pops during the first song on side G, noticeable but not overwhelming.
Jacket would be VG+ if not for a noticeable scratch on the cover of he box. It shows light handling and storage wear with creasing and some very light wear to the edge and corners. The sleeves are about the same condition with rub marks from being removed from the box and some minor seem splits and one or two .5" tears.
Each record has it's own printed jacket which also contains a printed inner sleeve. Record 3 has an inner sleeve but the jacket has long since been lost and is not included.
