Original UK Harvest label stereo press LP.

In Side Out was recorded during the first half of 1972 and released in June. The band had moved out of London down to Devon to write songs in between gigs and returned to Olympic Studios in London to record the album. This led to further sessions at Morgan Studios and eventually the album was completed. Overall, this was a darker, more intense affair than the previous album, with less of the heavy riffing & sing along chants style that had made their name and did not sell as well, but the unique artwork sleeve designed by Hipgnosis was innovative for the period.

This is the original issue with the 'Gramophone Co' rim text & EMI box on the labels, with the lyric inner, PR sheet and the A-2U B-2U matrices with the early 1-T 1-R mother stampers of the first press.
  The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd die-cut foldout gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing with a couple of small creases on the outer cover. The spine & hinges are intact & fully articulated. The Harvest inner is intact, is slightly discoloured & in EX condition. The lyric inner and PR sheet are intact and in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud and clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; SHTC-252, A-2U stamper 1-T, B-2U stamper 1-R. This is one of the early pressings of the original UK stereo issue of this iconic 1972 album.
