Please see my other auctions this week for a whole bunch of 2 minute and 4 minute phonograph cylinders! Here is an Edison 4 minute Blue Amberol cylinder, number 1656. This is a cylinder of historical interest… it is a dramatic reading of Henry W. Grady’s Speech on “The New South”, written shortly after the Civil War. It is interesting to see that, at this point, the term “Civil War” hadn’t been coined yet, and he instead refers to it as “The Great War”. The cylinder has minor plaster loss, but it plays okay… no major problems. INTERNATIONAL BIDS WELCOME. Drop me a message if ebay doesn’t calculate shipping for you.
