Description

Collectors, here is an amazing Edison Diamond Disc Electric record #52554, circa spring 1929.  On the "L" side, baritone Theodore Webb sings the song "Calm as the Night", with orchestra.  On the "R" side (label gone), Harrison and Archibald sing a duet of the familiar "Silver Threads Among the Gold" with orchestra.  Two lovely sentimental songs with fine singing, excellent listens.  As far as I can tell, neither song was issued as a Blue Amberol cylinder. The record plays well with limited surface noise, sounds great!  There are no edge chips, and the one label is firmly attached to the record.  This record was issued a few months before the end of the Diamond Disc:  the highest disc number issued is #52651.   There was limited production of this disc, how many are still around 90+ years later is anyone's guess, but the answer has to be "Not Many"!!  If this is what you like and need, do not pass it up!
