Description

Up for auction is a rarely seen Edison diamond disc tuning record that was used by dealers, technicians and the occasional phonograph owner to easily adjust the speed of a diamond disc phonograph. The entire record consists of the tone "A". By playing the record on your phonograph and adjusting the turntable speed knob until the sound matches the "A" tone on a pitch pipe or properly tuned piano, you can set the speed of your diamond disc phonograph to the recommended 80 rpm.

The matrix number on this record is 3342-B-3. I would rate the overall condition of the playing surface at "E-". As the photos show, there is some edge roughness and chipping on both sides of the record, but none of the chips extend into the grooves. There is considerable surface noise for the first 15 seconds or so, but the record plays very well thereafter.

Terms: I only accept Paypal, and payment is expected within 5 days of the end of the auction. Despite the $4.00 cost that might appear elsewhere in the listing, shipping will be $6.00 via media mail unless other arrangements are made, and only to the 50 United States. Returns accepted only if item differs materially from the description and photos contained in this listing. Thanks for looking, and good luck!
