Collectors, here is an interesting disc, Edison Diamond Disc 52336, circa early 1928, electric recordings. Two songs performed by the Murray Kellner Dinner Music Ensemble: "What a Pity!" and a tune Mr. Kellner wrote with Carson Robison, "Fidgets". Mr. Kellner was the violinist who performed on dozens of Vernon Dalhart recordings released by Edison in the mid to late 1920's. Both are nice songs with plenty of violin and xylophone, you will enjoy them. The record plays quite well with some surface noise. There are no edge chips and the labels are solidly attached to the record. Edison stopped diamond disc production in mid-1929 as they were experimenting with making records compatible with Victor and everyone else. So, let's think about this: record had less than 1 1/2 years to sell, after that the record and phonographs were obsolete. I would think within a few years most records and machines were relegated to the attic/basement/dumpster. So, this record must be pretty rare. If this is what you like, do not pass it up, finding another copy might be challenging! Sensible buy it now price given what it is, go for it!!!
