Eduard Erdmann was born in Germany March 5th, 1896. He studied music in Riga and Berlin (piano under the Liszt-pupil Conrad Ansorge, theory under Harald Creutzburg, composition under Heinz Tiessen). Since his Berlin debut in 1919, Erdmann has been regarded an eminent pianist and composer. In 1925 he took charge of the advanced class for piano playing at the Cologne Musikhochschule for ten years, and in 1950 he was appointed Professor in Hamburg. Eduard Erdmann died in June 1958.
