ARTIST - EDWARD ALSTON AND THE TREVELETTS TITLE - IN MEMORIAL B/W COME ON DOWN LABEL - CHAMP CATALOG NO - 11713
Rare and unknown deep gospel soul ballad. On the legendary Champ label. The artists and the the catalog number cannot be found in web searches. The narrator says it is by the Treveletts....so could be an original? Even though this is on the legendary Champ label, it's more of a Southern Gospel style rather than a soul funk. Hear it! The flip side is a fast song called "Come on Down" but only the voices sound soulful. At any rate, this is a very scarce record for collectors of this label and should help complete a collection. It's in VG+ condition, has a light scuff in the middle but it does not effect play too much, just some light crackling as you will hear. Thanks for looking.

VJ'S VINYL GRADING SYSTEM:
Mint - never used, once a record is opened, the top you can get is mint minus. Mint Minus - A great record, one or two fine hairline scuffs, sounds flawless. A mint minus record can "play" mint. Covers are new looking, may have shrink. Excellent - Can have faint hairline scuffs that do no affect play. Can have very minor infrequent crackling. Minor bumps in the cover. VG+ - Scuffs can be more prevalent, with a little more surface noise. If it visually has more scuffs but plays great, I will note that. Still, a very fine and playable copy. Covers have minor age and shelf wear. VG - Can have lots of hairline scuffs, and maybe one or two scratches. Surface noise more prevalent with some popping in spots. Covers have more extensive age and shelf wear. Minor splits. VG minus - More in the way of scratches and surface noise is NOT infrequent. Still, a viable copy. Covers may have splits. G+ - only reserved for a very rare or popular record. Very noisy, maybe some skips, scratches are evident. Covers are trashed. STILL SEALED - I will grade the vinyl as "still sealed." That means it's probably mint minus, but I do not know if there was any factory defects.
Hairline scuffs are light yet visible. You cannot feel them with the skin of your finger. Scratches you can feel. If I am on the fence between grades, I will go with the lower one. I will not use VG++ etc., but will say that a record is a "strong" VG+. "Age wear" on a cover is either fading or yellowing. "Shelf wear" is ring wear, corner bumps, or fraying.
