Description
This is a The Effigies - Haunted Town 12" on Restless Records of Evanston Illinois from 1981. On a 10 scale the vinyl is an 8.75 and the jacket is an 8.5. The jacket has a small sidecut. It includes the insert with lyrics. If I recall my punk history correctly the Haunted Town 12" came out in 81 on Autumn Records. The Effigies had problems with Autumn Records and formed their own label called Ruthless Records in 81 as well. Distribution was then picked up by Enigma Records. This is the Ruthless/Enigma distributed version of Haunted Town. OK,this is ultra classic hardcore. Very high on everyone's list. Imagine a less abrasive more hardcore Naked Raygun with a pounding Stranglers bass line connected to singer John Kezdy's skinhead style. I can't explain why but there was always a Misfits vibe to the Effigies too. Maybe it was the sheer power of the band. This rules.The songs are Below The Drop, Strongbox, Haunted Town, Mob Clash, We'll Be Here Tomorrow and Security... . I play these (to grade them) on the cheapest turntable I can find so they may sound a little better on your turntable.Payment via Paypal or Cashiers Check. First Class is untracked and uninsured. That means if the package is lost,due to there being no tracking,it is more or less impossible to find. Even more important is that there is no insurance on it,so if it is lost your refund money is lost. No refund on lost First Class packages. Think hard about shipping Priority. It is more expensive,but tracked and insured. So,even if the package was lost you get your money back. You have to decide if the risk of First Class is worth the money you save on shipping.That is up to you. I have had some requests since doing this to ship the vinyl outside of the jacket instead of in it.
