Egg - The Polite Force Rare Deram Stereo Vinyl Album SML 1074 1970
1st Pressing - Matrix Side 1 ZAL 10066P-1w Side 2 ZAL 10067P -1w
This is the second of Egg's groundbreaking albums from a much underrated (at the time) band who now have a cult following. Their music is for listening to. Complex jazz rhythms and counter rhythms and heavy rock riffs pervade this superb piece. The original line up of Campbell, Stewart and Brooks are complimented with appearances by Henry Lowther, Mike Davis, Bob Downes and Tony Roberts.
Vinyl - apart from one three eighths of an inch shallow graze to track one side one this is almost near mint. (The graze came about when I caught it lightly on the perspex top of my then Garrard deck when turning it over to enjoy side 2). This mark does not cause jump, skip or noise when played on my current deck.
Labels are clean and with virtually no spindle marking. Label has red top semi circle with Deram name in white. Bottom semi circle is white with title and track listings in black.
Dust cover - Original plastic lineswhite sleeve with blue print and blue squares. This has the usual browning inside the seams presumably from the dry and ageing adhesive.
Cover - Almost as new. Front full gloss laminate. No edge corner or seam wear only very very slight laminate blister near seam edge.Back is clean with only slight disc rim pressure marking.
