Description

Elastic Band: Expansions on Life LP (UK: Decca/Nova SND6  69), psych-prog classic. great psych with flute, like a heavier more psychy Jethro Tull, Stereo orig. They were one of the exponents of the UK psychedelic scene from the late 60 s feat Andy Scott later guitarist with the famous Sweet.

Originally known as The Silverstone Set (Wrexham based) this band gigged around the Midlands and North Wales. They also appeared on 'Opportunity Knocks', apparently they won five times! This helped secure a contract with Decca. They played a sort of blue-eyed soul and in Ted Yeadon's vocals they had quite an asset. The 'A' side of their second 45, Do Unto Others, was taken from the 'Mr. Rose' TV series and the flip was also quite an appealing piece of blue-eyed soul. Their sole album was a bit inconsistent. One of the tracks from it, Has Anybody Seen Her?, was also included on Nova Sampler in 1970. Ted Eadon was also known as Gus Yeadon amongst others.

The band split up in 1969 when Yeadon joined the Love Affair.

This must-have for collectors of classic english sounds from the late 60's.Along with the July album by the band of the same name, this LP remains one of the rarest pieces of vinyl from the UK psych scene. Cover is good condition, as is the inner sleeve and most importantly, the disc itself.
