Description
Original UK CBS rough orange label stereo first press LP.The Electric Flag was a blues/jazz/rock band formed by Mike Bloomfield, keyboardist, Barry Goldberg and drummer Buddy Miles and featuring vocalist Nick Graventes and bassist Harvey Brooks, This is their final LP issued after Mike Bloomfield had left and Buddy Miles took over the band. With the very earliest A-1 B-2 matrices & matching A-1 A-1 mother stampers of the first few hundred copies pressed.
The E. J. Day & Co front laminated stereo stickered sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light storage rubbing on the rear cover & very light laminate wear & creasing on the front cover. The spine is still intact, but worn & partly readable, the CBS company inner is intact, with a number in pen & in VG+ condition. The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only one or two faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines visible under bright light on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings. Overall the record still retains all its original sheen and looks great! The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall, a really great loud and punchy listen!! The matrix nos. are; 63462, A-1 mother stamper A-1, B-2 mother stamper A-1. This is one of the very earliest 1st pressing copies of the original 1969 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
