Eleh CIRCLE THREE : FULL MOON AT 35hz
2014 US Important Records IMPREC-401
S/Side Etched #69/500 Gold
Drone music,[2][3] drone-based music,[4] or simply drone, is a minimal music genre[5] that emphasizes the use of sustained or repeated sounds, notes, or tone-clusters – called drones. It is typically characterized by lengthy audio programs with relatively slight harmonic variations throughout each piece. La Monte Young, one of its 1960s originators, defined it in 2000 as "the sustained tone branch of minimalism".
Eleh is an electronic/drone musician who began working in 1999[1] and whose first release was in 2006. He has so far been reticent about providing any public information on his identity.[2] Eleh has released music on Touch Records, Important Records and Taiga Records.

I’ve traditionally avoided playing much Eleh on our radio show for a variety of reasons. Their tracks often last longer than half of our show, and don’t particularly lend themselves well to excerpts; Eleh releases have been subject to a slightly undeserved cult of appeal, including serious after-market over-pricing; lastly, I actually feel like it does get a fair amount of airplay, both on our show and others. The dynamism (by drone standards) of this single piece is greater than a sizable swath of their catalogue taken as a whole. It also manages this without sacrificing the almost puritanical minimalism or elegance rightly associated with their work. Recommended.
