Eleven Pond - Bas Relief - Original Private Issue #121/500 - VERY RARE

Must be a blue moon.  Offered from my private collection.....

"The band Eleven Pond was from Upstate New York. They released this LP in 1986. It has a wonderful low-tech warm driving synth sound that is infectious."

It was self-released (no label, even!) in one pressing of 500 copies and hand-numbered on the front.  I received this record directly from the band, as I was in my own band at the same time and occasionally would see James Tabbi (vocalist).  It is lightly played, in excellent (near mint) condition.  Jacket has been stored in plastic outer sleeve and is in original condition (protected the hand silk screened images). Numbered 121 (out of 500) in Silver pen in lower left corner. Includes insert with band picture and lyrics.  Slight yellowing of album inner sleeve.

"Both the front and back have silk screened artwork. It was recorded live to analogue 2-track (hence the lo-fi nature) and self-produced. Almost every song is killer dark post-punk or electronic wave. They seemed to take cues from Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division/early New Order, Fad Gadget, and Depeche Mode. Songs like Watching Trees, Tears and Cinnamon, Portugal, Ignorant Father, and Temporal deserve to be heard. I can guarantee that nobody will be disappointed in this one."

[Description Update:  11/7/11]  In response to a specific question on vinyl condition, I will comment for everyone.  This was a "self-release" off-label pressing from a two track master.  There are some vinyl artifacts "pops", overall levels are lower than a usual pressing.  Side 2 has a little bit more surface noise at the beginning.  Overall, for vinyl LP 25 years old I consider this still in excellent shape.  I would say that total number of plays of this were under 10 which is what I considered "lightly played".  There is a remastered/re-released version from Dark Entries which corrected some of the mastering issues, which is also more modern and better quality pressing. However, side by side I actually like this "lower fidelity" version and being truer to the sound of the band.
