Elvis Presley Rock n Roll No 1 LP HMV CLP 1093

This is his first LP which I have owned for 54 years.

The cover I should say is very good. The front has a couple of nicks on the spine edge and is a bit scuffed at the top edge and the opening edge with a short laminate crease/lift near the spine and a crease at the open edge. The reverse is similar with a couple of nicks and a one inch tear at the open edge and some laminate liftaround the edges. See photo.

The inner sleeve is original with a few marks and the original inner polythene lining althouigh this has come adrift at one edge. I must have stuck this with sellotape at some point for this has come unstuck and left two marks. Not bad though.

The record itself has matrices of 2xav255-1n and 256-1n which I believe indicates a first pressing although I am no expert - just an elderly teenager at heart selling off part of my youth! There are marks on the first track on each side which on my Dansette cause no problem at all on side two but do cause a jump towards the end of Blue Suede Shoes on side one. The rest plays well without problem.The spindle hole is clean.

This is an old record but I believe it to be a bargain for this rare bit of history judging by others I have seen advertised.
