Description
Elliott Smith - Either/Or (1997) (2002) KRS 269 Vinyl Record
Vinyl record is in excellent used condition, clean and plays very well, originally bought new and played sparingly over the years, still has shrink wrap on cover. Thinning the private collection some, always sleeved when not playing and never set down on other surfaces.
This was kind of a tricky album to figure out if it was 1st pressing or not, but I believe it's the 2002 reissue of the original pressing, insert says 1997 still, looks the same and is the same lighter style vinyl before the later 180 gram pressings.
I recommend looking up the 1st pressing of this vinyl album on the discogs website, some decent comments and clarity for this specific album. There's a lot of other sellers listing them as 1st pressing even though it's not, I see some poor guy got conned into paying $260 for a similar reissue advertised as 1st press, don't be uninformed like them, they do look nearly identical though.
My best assessment is the record label just reprinted the records as they needed more without updating the sleeve or copyright date info. Seems like the only real way to tell which year the earliest records were made is by the record labels mail order insert, the 1997/1998 pressings had them, but this one does not. My guess would be that unless the record has an original 1996/1997 mail order insert then it's probably an early reissue like this.
Hope that helps but I still recommend doing some research of your own. Like I said, kind of a tricky one to figure out.
Also includes a copy of Figure 8 but is missing the case, light wear but played fine, tested one last time. Unfortunately made the mistake of putting my CDs in a larger holder and misplaced a box with a lot of the original cases, CD is only in basic paper sleeve as pictured.
Excellent clean used vinyl record with bonus CD as pictured.
