Elvis' 10-inch 33 one-third Stereo Acetate of the recording The First Time I Saw Your Face. As the photo shows, it is on the RCA, Nashville red and white label. It is a one-sided acetate.
Acetates of any artists are rare, but being Elvis makes it super rare.
Acetates were made for test recordings and or reference recordings. Usually there might be a least six acetates of the same song, maybe less. There is a fine coating of wax on a metal disc. This particular record does have some surface scratches due to the age. It still comes in its original protective sleeve. Acetates are certainly amongst the rarest records in the world.
Elvis usually listened to these test recordings and made a decision on whether he like the recording or not. Sometimes he would throw them away, especially if he did not like the recording. Sometimes one of his entourage would retrieve the record.
