I use the following Grading System-

Vinyl

·         Mint: Never opened, never played, as new.

·         Near Mint (NM): A nearly perfect record. No visible marks. The record shows no obvious signs of wear.

·         Excellent: An excellent record that sounds like mint but has a few very slight visible marks. There may be a few visible very light hairline marks that shouldn't be audible.

·         Very Good Plus (VG+): A Very Good Plus record show some signs that it has been played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don t significantly affect play. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but is barely noticeable. The centre hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play.

·         Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in a VG+ record but are more pronounced in a VG vinyl. Surface noise may be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable,  as will light scratches that will affect the sound.

·         Good (G), Good Plus (G+): A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play though without skipping. But it may have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear.

·         Poor (P), Fair (F): Below good. Imperfections will be described. Just okay, until you get a good copy! 

Sleeve Grade

·         Mint Cover - No stickers address labels, writing on the covers or labels. No tears or seam splits. No wear to the cover.

·         Near Mint - The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age.

·         Excellent - Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear! Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled.

·         Very Good - The artwork looks clean with slightly more aging. The back of the cover usually gives away the age of the cover. Flat white paper will be somewhat yellow yet no stains or mildew from water damage. Some minor wear to the seams or spine, including small seam splits. Cover may have some writing, tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.

·         Good – Will list specific faults of the cover. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the subject. 

·         Poor , Fair – Cover has many flaws and is below average condition, will list faults.

My Grading System: I try to grade conservatively. Prefer you are surprised rather than unhappy with the record.  All records are Visually Graded, but I do listen to as many as I can.  I try my best to grade each record correctly....but as you know grading varies with everyone.   If you are not satisfied simply email me as soon as you receive the record and we will work it out.  I value my customers, my rating and I am an honest seller.  Check out my other listings on ebay.
