Because the original single album included 20 tracks and utilized a then new system of ‘sound compression’ it proved to be of too poor a sound quality for stereo radio stations. To address this problem this double 45 rpm album was especially pressed in a very limited number for distribution to stations within the UK
The album cover on this copy was made using the poster that was distributed with the original commercial LP.

The vinyl is in excellent condition and plays well.
When it comes to the history of the album I can account for it from it's creation: it was pressed at Pye Records, Mitcham, Surrey where I was working as a quality controller at the time. The inner sleeves bare the marks E3 & E6 which denote which presses they were made on.
As such the LP's have never had to face the depredations of handling and playing at a radio station - hence the excellent condition. This also explains why the plain white sleeves that the albums were originally shipped out in are not present. The tracks are listed on the actual records rather than on any 'play list'
The sleeve they are in was created by myself from a poster that came with the publicly available version of the album and which I used to cover an old album cover. The sleeve is in good order with no damage other than some sun marks to the open end which has protruded from the plastic album cover it has been kept in over the last 33 years. The albums have been played probably no more than a dozen times in their existence - in fact the item has been unplayed and stored for the last 20+ years.
