Description
Up for auction is an Elvis Presley "G.I. Blues" vinyl LP released by RCA/Victor Records (LPM-2256). This particular specimen has the elusive "Wooden Heart" sticker affixed to the inner sleeve with the record. Grading as follows:
Jacket: VG :: This jacket would be graded an easy VG+ if it wasn't for a seam split on the top of the jacket -- roughly 3-4" long. Otherwise everything else here is standard as to what you'd find on a VG+ cover: light ring wear and shelf wear, light wear on all the edges and light wear to the spine. The name of the album and elvis' name are legible on the spine.
Vinyl: (Not play-tested) :: Easy VG+ :: Vinyl has been played, there is evidence of spindle wear on both sides of the label, but otherwise the record is VERY clean. High gloss finish on both sides, only the faintest of scratching or scuff here or there on both sides -- a very well cared for record for its age.
Now for the sleeve. Somebody must have carefully removed this sticker from the shrinkwrap when the record was first released and affixed it to the inner sleeve. They did a very nice job of preserving the sticker, a few folds and only some minor damage to the sticker is evident. If I were to give it a grade, I'd say a solid 7/10. The sleeve it's affixed to has noticeable wear near the load-in area, a small seam split on the bottom but it's otherwise very much in tact with no stains or major tears. One tear has been repaired with a 1" section of scotch tape at the top, but that's it.
