Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND 1959 EP release ELVIS PRESLEY - A TOUCH OF GOLD released in the USA.
The record itself (EPA-5088 BLACK LABEL dog on top) is in VERY GOOD+ condition and retains some of it's natural sheen.
There are some visible marks / scratches but nothing too dep or drastic!
The centre labels are CRISP, CLEAN and have NO WRITING(see photos)
This is also the 1st pressing as indicated by the stamped numbers K2PH1245-1S and K2 PH1246-1S
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $50 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is only VERY GOOD/ VERY GOOD-)for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is over 55 years old and is in reasonable condition for the age.
There are a few flaws which stop this from grading higher such as a complete seam split along both the top and bottom and some staining. (hence the lower starting price)
On the plus side there is NO WRITING!
This 2nd edition and corrected printed sleeve is quite Rare as a lot of people purchased the 1st Mispressed sleeve.
This was because the word OF was missing from the original test pressings and they then wedged the word OF on the far left of the sleeve between the word Touch and Gold.
This is the later corrected and centered sleeve. (see my other items for the 1st mispressed sleeve with the maroon label)
THIS ONE RARELY COMES UP FOR SALE AND IS THE ONLY ORIGINAL COPY OF THE MAROON LABEL I HAVE EVER SOLD IN 9 YEARS OF SELLING ON EBAY!!!!!!
This is a really affordable addition to fill any collection!.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE CONDITION OF THE SLEEVE IF/WHEN PLACING A BID!
THE SLEEVE WILL ONLY SERVE AS A COLLECTION FILLER UNTIL THAT $200 MINT BLACK LABEL RECORD AND SLEEVE COMES ALONG!!!!!!
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $100+(£66 approx) .I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £68+.
THIS REALLY IS A HARD TO FIND TO SLEEVE!!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
Please look at my other auctions for some more great Elvis USA picture sleeve lots.
I offer shipping discounts on multiple purchases. (please request total invoice through checkout when you have completed bidiing on multiple items)
APOLOGIES FOR POSTAGE PRICE INCREASES BUT THIS IS DUE TO ROYAL MAIL RAISING COSTS AS OF APRIL 2015
