Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the HARD TO FIND 1959 EP release ELVIS PRESLEY - A TOUCH OF GOLD Vol II released in the USA.
The record itself (EPA-5101 dog on top) is in VERY GOOD+ condition with a few visible marks/scratches.
This would grade a litlle higher, however there is a visible scratch which can be felt on side 2. (hence the lower start)
I have play tested this and it plays with NO SKIPS or JUMPS and the scratch (although slightly audiable) does not affect play!
The centre labels are CRISP, CLEAN and have NO WRITING!(see photos)
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $50 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is ONLY in VERY GOOD / VERY GOOD-) for the sleeve alone!!!
This sleeve is over 55 years old and the colours on the front are quite bright quite for the age.
There are quite a few flaws which stop this from grading higher. (hence the lower starting price)
The things that stop this from grading even higher is complete seam split along the bottom, halfway up the side and halfway along the top.
There is also tape marks on the front and rear and the time and year have been written on the rear.
On the plus side though Elvis's Gold lame images are quite nice.
This would make an affordable collection filler until that mint $200 record and sleeve come along!
THIS ONE RARELY COMES UP FOR SALE AND IS ONLY THE 2nd ORIGINAL COPY OF THE LABEL I HAVE EVER SOLD IN OVER 10 YEARS OF SELLING ON EBAY!!!!!!
This is a really affordable addition to fill any collection!.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE CONDITION OF THE SLEEVE IF/WHEN PLACING A BID!
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to help prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $120+(£75 approx) .I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £80+.
THIS REALLY IS A HARD TO FIND TO SLEEVE!!!
A MINT COPY OF THE RECORD AND SLEEVE WOULD SET YOU BACK $200+(£125+)
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!!
Please look at my other auctions for some more great Elvis USA picture sleeve lots.
I offer shipping discounts on multiple purchases.
APOLOGIES FOR POSTAGE PRICE INCREASES BUT THIS IS DUE TO ROYAL MAIL RAISING COSTS AS OF 2ND APRIL 2013!!!
