ELVIS PRESLEY - “ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM” (LOC-1035), A FIRST PRESSING FROM 1957; NOT A REISSUE! RECORD: VG (Strong) with pleasing surfaces for the grade. Although there are many light scuffs & scratches on this Indianapolis pressing, none of them can be felt with the fingertip. I test played this record in its entirety and was quite impressed by the high fidelity! Of course, on softer tracks like "O Little Town Of Bethlehem" and "Silent Night", some audible "ticks" are present, but they do not override the listening enjoyment. There were certainly no skips, repeats or loud "ticks" or "pops". A fully original Indianapolis pressing! The labels are very clean and original, showing just light spindle marks. This album was released in November of 1957 and includes the huge hit, "Blue Christmas", which was released exclusively on 45 Extended Play (EPA-4108). The matrix numbers are the absolute lowest obtainable, ending with 1S/1S! COVER: VG+ with absolutely no seam splits, tape or writing. The spine is sound, for the most part and fully legible in Gold print. There is a crack of approximately 2 inches that is at the center of the spine and just above "ELVIS PRESLEY". It is quite minor at this point and barely even noticeable. Ring wear is pretty light on both sides, although there are traces of record rack impression that is seen on both sides toward the lower portion of the cover. The bound-in photo album inside of the gatefold is fully attached as when new and is just simply stunning! A small amount of wrinkling is observed from handling, but it is not offensive by any means. This album was believed to have been a one-year issue until recent accounts, which claim that LPM-1951 was not actually released until November of 1959, making this a two-year issue. I have seen photos of this documentation. I speculate that the Silver print copies were probably the 1958 examples. Please view all photos of this historic album!
