Elvis Presley Ed Sullivan AFRS record radio transcription 16” 1956 RARE
Offered here is a rare AFRS 16” radio transcription #49 for radio broadcast of the Ed Sullivan television Show with guest star Elvis Presley. This is Elvis’ second appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. The original television broadcast date is October 28, 1956. The other side has an E. Power Biggs classical pipe organ concert show.
The record is in excellent condition as shown. It has grease pencil marks to allow a technician to cue songs in the program, which can be removed, and a light scratch towards the end of the program (the end of Jean Carroll’s comedy routine) but it plays through fine with very little noise. It is not during any of the Elvis performances. It plays a little crackly, as many/most of these discs do, depending on your stylus size. This is rare - try to find another one.
The run-off groove says "Prop U.S. Gov't" - "Ed Sullivan #77 (End 496) Time: 29:15 - 30:30"
Contents:
Little Gaylee Sisters perform "She Danced And Danced Today" and "Believe Me All The Enduring Young Charms"
Elvis performs: "Don't Be Cruel," "Love Me Tender," "Love Me"
Joyce Fenfelt - skit
Elvis performs: "Hound Dog"
Jean Carroll - comedy routine
