This listing features an ORIGINAL STEREO 1ST PRESSING of Elvis Gold Records, Vol. 4 LSP-3921 released in 1968! The FIRST PRESSING example offered here is still in the FACTORY SHRINK WRAP! As you can see, the original record store code sticker is still affixed to the shrink!
What is a record store code?
Most record stores from the 1960s and '70s used a system of codes for pricing purposes, rather than pricing every record individually. For example, the album code might be the letter "B". So the buyer would take his/her album to the front where they'd determine the price of the album by looking for the price which corresponds with the letter "B".
Back in the 60s & 70s, the code system just described was very widespread. That system allowed record stores to discount an entire category of records, without having to change a ton of individual price stickers. In recent years, those same vintage record albums, that STILL have the original shrink and the original code sticker attached, have been selling for significant premiums!
CONDITION: The beautiful album cover is in solid MINT condition and still in the factory shrink! It's hard to believe this album is over 50 years old! The original shrink is very nice and tight with no tears and/or separation of any kind. The vinyl with RCA Victor WHITE TOPS labels are also in MINT condition! In fact, the record appears unplayed! The original inner sleeve is pristine! Please examine the photos. Don't hesitate to message us with any questions!
This album has survived in MINT condition for over 50 years! It's worth noting that the value of both the mono and stereo releases of Elvis Gold Records Vol. 4 has increased significantly in recent years. And there's no reason to think that trend won't continue! The WT (white tops), like this one, are much harder to find than other Elvis releases. Theres a reason why the Mono variation goes for thousands of dollars! If you're a serious collector who's looking for a TOP COPY... this is it! Definitely an INVESTMENT GRADE album!
