ELVIS PRESLEY - 'HEARTBREAK HOTEL'

This genuine UK 1-sided 78rpm DEMO of Elvis's debut UK release from January 1956 on HMV: POP 182.

The 10" shellac disc bears a printed black & white HMV label which carries the wording 'DEMONSTRATION SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE'

Machine stamped matrix number: G2-WB 209-1

The non-playing side is completely blank.

Clean & unblemished with a small contemporary library sticker in the upper portion.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Remarkable condition for its format and age, this example has been carefully stored and barely, if ever played. The playing surface if clean & undulled with just a single very faint scuff but not a single scratch anywhere. There is a harmless circular yellow chinagraph pencil mark which runs 2/3 arounfd the playing surface 4cm inside the disc, which has effect on the sound or play quality whatsoever. The disc is free from any chips, cracks or any other visual faults or wear.

Sound Quality: NEAR MINT

The sound is clean & unworn with no trace of any groove/playwear distortion, clicks pops or jumps. In fact, aside from the usual low-level background common for discs of this type, it is flawless.
