ELVIS PRESLEY – “IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD’S FAIR” (LPM-2697) – FIRST PRESSING FROM 1963

RECORD:  VG+ on the high end of the scale, with full original gloss. Side 2 would easily grade VG++ (EXC), but Side 1 has just a few too many surface scuffs to warrant the grade. This Hollywood pressing should play like a new record because it is so clean! The labels, being from the Hollywood plant, are simply stunning with great color. I see just one spindle mark! This Original Soundtrack recording was released in April of 1963 and contains the hit single “ONE BROKEN HEART FOR SALE / THEY REMIND ME TOO MUCH OF YOU”. The matrix numbers end with 6S/5S.

COVER:  VG+ with no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes. There is really no ring wear to speak of; very minimal, if any. There is some very light and spotted upper & lower edge wear from storage. The spine is smooth, consistent and fully sound. It is also fully legible, although a bit off-center. To the upper right corner on the front, there is what appears to be a square-shaped “lift” of the surface from a sticker being pulled off. This did result in some tiny areas of the slick to be lifted away, but it is only noticed upon close inspection. This is a very presentable and highly attractive, vintage cover.
