You Elvis record fans out there just thought you had all of Elvis' LP'S. These rare gems were only issued in Italy to promote some of RCA's biggest names. The three records in this auction were recorded in 1956 and 1957. They were promo records given to disk jockeys and distributors in Italy and had a very limited production run.
The first record in this group is Elvis Presley Cocktail Di Successi N. 3 10" LP (RCA Italiana, 1956). Elvis ("Heartbreak Hotel") is the main reason this italian release is such a prize, but other stars were featured on this sampler, most notably Kay Starr (singing her #1 1956 hit "Rock and Roll Waltz"). Perry Como, Eddie Fisher, Lena Horne, Marilyn Monroe, Tony Martin, Eartha Kitt, and others are also included. As far as I know this is only the second time this album has appeared on Ebay in the last ten years or so. Because it is so rare it may never appear again. Condition: EX7 / EX7.
The second record is Elvis Presley Cocktail Di Successi N. 5 10" LP (RCA Italiana 0109, 1957). This promo sampler for Italy not only had the King's "All Shook Up"and "Loving You" it also featured hits by some of Elvis' RCA label-mates. Included were selections by Perry Como (including his #1 hit "Round And Around"), Harry Belafonte (with the classic "Banana Boat Song"), Eartha Kitt and Dinah Shore. The wine bottle cover is highly sought after, and if somehow you manage to find a copy of this rarity, chances are it won't be in as nice a condition as this one. Condition: EX7 /VG-EX6.
The third record is Elvis Presley Cocktail Di Successi N. 8 12" LP (RCA Italiana 10003, 1957). This is the 12 " LP in the group of three and it features an absolutely gorgrous cover with Lena Horne, Sophia Loren, Harry Belafonte, and Elvis Presley on the cover. The inclusion of Elvis was a no brainer. His "Got A Lot Of Livin' To Do" was from the movie soundtrack of his second feature length film, "Loving You". Other big name artists were Harry Belafonte, Perry Como, Eddie Fisher, The Ames Brothers, Lena Horne, Dinah Shore, Julius La Rosa, Mario Lanza, and Femmes Fatales Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren. Quite an impressive collection of talent. Condition: EX7 / NM8.
