Description
This is the very scarce EXPORT GOLD AND PURPLE HMV label issue of “Mystery Train”
from 1957 with the famous “Nipper” logo label design.
Record
Visually I have graded the single strictly at Very Good. Under a bright light there are moderate hairlines and one or two small
superficial scratches. Also under bright light there are some scuff marks visible when the record is tilted.
The vinyl surface has still retained much of its gloss despite its age! Please do not be put off by the visual grading.
This is far from being a poor looking record that belongs in a flea market, but one I have been pleased to have in my own
collection for several years, and the playing quality is fine.
Labels
The distinctive purple and gold labels have few spindle lines only when viewed under bright light and very light spindle hole wear. No other unwanted label marks or writing.
Sleeve
The original HMV company sleeve is graded Very Good Plus and shows some general handling
and age wear. There is a small (two cms) seam split in the middle of the bottom edge.
Sound Quality
“Mystery Train” plays with fine audio quality, just occasional very light crackle way down beneath the music. Absolutely nothing to spoil the enjoyment of the song and of course no skips or jumps. The B side “I Forgot……” plays in similar fashion with no skips or jumps just occasional light crackle.
Overall a respectable copy of this genuine rarity now getting on for fifty years old ! I have been proud to have it my own
collection for many years and I hope it will find another happy home, HAPPY BIDDING
Please see scans of record and labels below
The grading system I use is from Record Collector:- Mint, Excellent, Very Good with +/- to distinguish borderline grades.
All records are carefully visually and play graded before auction to avoid any disappointment to buyers, so bid with confidence.
A full no quibble refund for the cost of the record will be offered if you are not satisfied for ANY reason.
I treat all vinyl with the greatest respect whether £5 or £50, so all records are sent out with protective covers in professional mailers and two protective stiffeners. I always seperate records from their covers and original inner sleeves for posting to prevent seam splits occurring during shipping.
I would advise insurance to be taken out on any record sale greater than £30.00 as protection against loss or damage during shipping.
Please do not bid if you have significant negative feedback unless checking first.
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH VINYL FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS.
I AIM TO PROVIDE TOP QUALITY RECORDS WITH A TROUBLE FREE TRANSACTION.
IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED FOR ANY REASON PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL
OFFER A FULL REFUND MINUS THE POSTAGE COSTS.
PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BIDS!
